Went to Leeds University in 1967 to do Textile Design, asked to leave in 1968, quite rightly, I had attended few lectures and loathed all of them. So eventually enrolled at Canterbury College of Art in 1969, had a nice time, worked on the cross-channel ferries and graduated as a B.A. in 1972. Then was a an automotive audio engineer till 1990, trained to be a teacher and graduated with a PGCE in 1991. Since then have worked with youngsters with emotional and behavioural difficulties, doing art amongst lots of other things. Studied for a Masters Degree in Fine Art at Coventry University, graduating in 1998. Since that time there have been many solo exhibitions in various parts of the UK, as well as quite a few group exhibitions, in locations such as Coventry, Banbury, Warwick (University), Coventry ( University), Poole (Dorset),
Leamington Spa, Bath and Hoxton (London).
My art and my art practice is best described as eclectic. I do not subscribe to the tenet that pursuing only one particular route of development is the only means of endeavour. There exist many commonalities, shared perspectives and adaptable aesthetic and theoretical values applicable to most aspects of art production. I regard it as a challenge to work within a variety of subjects, approaches and media
whilst maintaining a consistency and a workable systematical and stylistic formula.
Gerhardt Richter wrote that successful production of art is a series of not yets and a yes at the end . A wonderfully simple description of a viable artistic process.
